Orphan Care

Orphan Care

150 million children worldwide are without their parents, living in foster care, group homes, or orphanages. The vast majority of these children is placed because of poverty, and are not true orphans. Without the loving care and support of a family, former orphans are at high risk for suicide, and becoming involved with illegal drugs, prostitution, and other crimes. They are also at high risk for victimization.
Our mission to orphans is three-fold.

First, to advocate for adoption of children who are waiting. We do this through speaking to parishes about the need, the rewards of adoption to both family and child, and about the adoption process.   We also offer a crowdfunding resource that allows families to raise the needed funds for adoption, travel, medical and other expenses. All fees charged are used to sustain the administration of the website and to support our apostolate.

Second, to bring children into our own family, raising them in the service of the Lord, and His people. We are led to adopt children that are older (usually 10 and up), and who show promise in various areas.  We also have a special concern for sibling groups, and for children of Romani background.

Third, to work within the Church to help parishes to develop programs that will strengthen all families, but especially at-risk families, in their care.
